DeAfrica in collaboration with the MILL is excited to offer an incredible practical Entrepreneurship course in September 2024. This course is designed to provide a hands-on entrepreneurial training for aspiring entrepreneurs and those looking to refine their business skills.

About The Mill:
Located in Bloomington, Indiana, USA, The Mill is the cornerstone of southern Indiana’s startup ecosystem and its largest coworking space. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit center for entrepreneurship in Bloomington, funded by membership, event space fees, and generous donations from corporate sponsors and angel investors from south-central Indiana.
Mission: To help launch and accelerate startups.

Program description:
Entrepreneurship offers powerful opportunities: to take ownership of your future, achieve financial freedom, build a dream, create jobs, and more.  The Mill believes that by increasing access to these opportunities, the entire community benefits. Their program offers new entrepreneurs and people who’ve always wanted to start a business but lacked an entry point, hands-on entrepreneurial training. The program will bolster their entrepreneurial skills, connect them to other founders, and prepare them for the next stages in their entrepreneurial journey.  The key focus areas include customer discovery, developing problem statements and value propositions, product-market fit, metrics and KPIs, financials and among other key skills that will help their new ventures succeed.

Program delivery method and time frame:
The Program will be done virtually from The Mill in Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Session length: 90 mn live on ZOOM course per session weekly

Schedule: Wednesdays at 11:00 AM EST (6:00 PM EAT: [Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda], 7:00 PM in Mauritius, 5:00 PM in Botswana, 3:00 PM in West Africa: [Senegal-Mali-Gambia])

  1. The instructor will share any materials covered in class after class. When possible, he will share them beforehand so they can review prior to class. If they have guest speakers, he will share out any materials they present following class.
  2. Final deliverable from each student: Typically, The MILL ends its programs with some kind of business pitch or showcase. Ultimately, the program uses the pitch deck as something the Mill builds towards as a final deliverable from each student.

Some guests will appear in the course.
